The John Guest Group, still family owned and run, offers as good an example as you are likely to find of a British based world class manufacturing organisation. Established in the early 1960's the company has grown to become the world's largest manufacturer of push in pipe fittings and other fluid system products to a wide variety of industries and applications such as Drinks Dispense, Plumbing, Pneumatics, Compressed Air Systems, Water Purification, Drinks Vending, Automotive and Telecommunications. The company now employs some 1,100 people at its 400,000 sq ft purpose built manufacturing facilities at Group Headquarters near Heathrow and centres within the UK.

At the beginning of 2008 the company identified a need and decided to carry out training for some of its sales staff and engaged the services of Steve Cowie from Sinclair. The initial requirement involved 20 field based sales staff which would be covered in 2 groups of 10. The training was based around the open course ' TRAINING FOR SUCCESS ' but tailored to fit our specific requirements. Some field based one-to-one coaching also followed to reinforce the training in real live customer situations.

The courses were run in a very professional manner and were highly successful. The feedback from the delegates and the subsequent feedback from their managers was very positive with improvements shown particularly in efficiencies, appointment making and sales success rates.

The methodology used is practical and structured – really getting to the heart of how profitable sales are made and how to improve each step in the process. The training was very interactive, dynamic and motivational.

In these economic times more so than ever a well trained sales force that is one step ahead of the competition is vital.

I am sure Steve and his team at Sinclair will be working with us again in the future.
